Strange, the slide show is displaying the images in the order I have manually arranged them in the folder.

When you have the Windows Photo Viewer slide show playing, right click on the slide show, and see if you have Loop selected and not Shuffle.

I don't know what else to suggest since it's work for me in the same location as yours. If you do it from within your C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures folder after you arrange a few images, does the slide show display them in the same arrangement order?

I'm afraid that I'm stumped as to why Slide Show displays the image in my manual arrangement when "auto arrange" is disabled, and not for you.

    I discovered the trick:
    - If I select a picture (ANY pic) in the folder and then click on slidoshow, the pictures will always be displayed in alphabetical order regardless of the manual arrangement.
    - If no pic is initially selected, the slideshow will display the pics according to how they are arranged.

I've successfully applied the fix to my 32-bit system on my laptop but it fials to work completely on my 64-bit desktop. I started from scratch on the desktop and manual rearrangement of images in a folder worked but as soon as I renamed a file, every file got autoarranged by the current criterion.

I've read elsewhere that after that intermediate re-boot, it is necessary to both open then close My Computer.

Meanwhile, I've read every post in this forum and not found that any special treatment is required for 64-bit versions. So what now?

    Best wishes,
    Tone

    UPDATE:
I think it is now sorted.
I did a system restore to a point just before the latest MS update.
I did not re-apply the fix but when I checked a photo folder, evrything now worked - that is re-order, then rename.
    Black art or not?

Hello Tone, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted. The tutorial does need to be applied exactly as is on both the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 for it to work though. Please see the NOTE box at the top of the tutorial to see if that is what you mean with rename. :)

Hello and thank your for this fix. However there is still one problem I wonder if can be resoled.
So after applying the fix I now can shuffle files and folders, and also "Auto arrange" and "Align to greed" options are now available in the "View" menu. I'm using something in the middle between Small and Medium icons. So the problem is "Auto arrange" is on in every single folder by default. I can shuffle files and folders to interchange their positions, but I can't, let's say, put files in the circle shape with this thing on. Of cause I can turn "View => Auto arrange" option off manually, but the problem is I have to set it off manually for every single folder (witch is tedious, I have hundreds of them) and I can't set it off for all folders by default. Is there a way to do so?

Hello Klimat, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not sure if I understand, but the tutorial turns "auto arrange" off in all folders except in libraries.
