Hi Brink,
I had one last question for you,
I use disk cleanup once a week and delete the thumbnails cache,
Would this effect your brilliant software alteration of auto arrange,
Thanks in advance.

Hey I just noticed your from Texas,
Outstanding and thanks again :)
Dear Brink -
Thank God for you and your efforts. Still cannot believe that microsoft removed such crucial functionality.
I'm very happy with the way your tutorial worked.
Now I'm curious about something: Since the auto-arranging was the problem that prevented me from working with my files, why is it that, after your tutorial, a check mark appears next to the new "Auto arrange" item in the drop-down menu under View? This makes it look like auto-arranging is happening. The opposite is true, Thanks to You. Does your registry program trick windows into thinking that Auto arrange should be check-marked when it shouldn't be check-marked?
Thank you again, and keep up the good work.
You're most welcome Bat, and welcome to Seven Forums.
The reg file uses a workaround to disable autoarrange even when it's still checked in the View menu. :)
Hi Brink just an update,
It took about four attempts to get all folders and the files in the folders to cooperate for some reason,
Don't know why, I had two folders that were stubborn in my pictures folder and the main folders would not move around,
But it finally did activate in all the areas it's supposed to effect,
Awesome work by the way,
I believe it was the reset all folders view file that was having the trouble, and full boot was definitely necessary :)
It's been a couple of months now and I haven't messed things up yet :)
At first I didn't really move files around but was attempting to do so on a few just to see if wl photo gallery would reflect the changes made in the x-p version and the full win-7 version and neither version will read the changes, nor does win-7 library,
Even after rebuilding the thumbnails cashe in windows and also having wlpg do the same,
So it's not tricking either one into reading the user name folder location
I might give picasa another swing and see if the results are the same but if it also reads from the win-7 library system and not user name it will also probably be no joy except in a the user name folders,
Possibly a third party rename utility is the answer if it has a drag and drop function ?
After thinking about it with the ability already provided by you, thanks for that,
All I really have to do is drag the files around and rename the ones I want to move and put the same name as the one I want it next to and add a (a) or ....to the following photos,
You did make this allot easier to have both files next to each other without writing the name down and then renaming the others,
At least the libraries will read the changes and so does wlpg :)
And the people rejoice !

It does not work if my folder name is Docs, I did all these just to avoid auto arrange that particular folder, Unfortunately I was able to do it for all folders other than that. Renaming folder solved the problem though
Thanx for the work around
