Windows 7 virtual mode: 550 mhz only?

I installed an older version of Nero as it obviously wasnt compatible with Windows 7. To my surprise, my DVD burner wasn't recognized and the system information showed the CPU at 550 mhz.

I am just wondering if this limitation was made aware to people buying Windows 7 Professional just to run Windows XP mode?

Initially, I had thought that Windows 7 would configure the application within Windows 7 to run in XP mode, not in virtual mode.

Is there a fix in the work to increase the speed of Windows XP Virtual mode?

Windows XP mode as it is called, is a Virtual Machine running on virtual hardware.
I'm sure you can imagine the problem here, yes?

A Virtual Machine has to go to several layers to even get a simple task completed.

Of course, but if you're running an i7 2.8 GHZ one would think the speeds would be at least in the gigahertz range.

And that still doesn't explain why Microsoft doesn't disclose this information or give a disclaimer about Windows XP Virtual mode on their website, wouldn't you agree?
