Windows 7: Path of downloads, especially xp mode .exe

Path of downloads, especially xp mode .exe

I am following step 3 at Download Windows XP Mode and doing the first install. My DSL goes through an old intercom system, so it's only 1.5Mbps on a good day. This download takes more than an hour, and I chose to run rather than save it. After seeing how long it takes, I thought it wise to save a copy, which means I gotta find out where the .exe is downloaded to.

According to The Temporary Internet Files Folder In Windows 7 & Vista., it should be in C:\Users\LocalAdmin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files . wever i don't see such a file there, regardless of what column I sort by. Nothing that looks like a partial file, either. I also looked in C:\Users\LocalAdmin\Downloads , no joy.

Where would I find this file?

So is this for the system you have listed? You can't use xp mode on home premium.

Anyway you have to show protected operating system files to see Temporary Internet Files.

Oops, I just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro, so it's not on Home Premium. I did in fact make hidden & systems files/folders visible. I did it for the whole C-drive, I think (or some location very high up on the folder tree of the folder paths I specified in the original post). I went to the folder paths that I originally posted...not there (at least during the download). There's nothing there now either, in either locations, after the download (can't be sure if the install was done by the time I checked just right now).

I did notice that the Temporary Internet Files folder had only two icons files now, whereas before, it had many many files. Maybe the XP download maxed out some limit and triggered some housecleaning. Also, maybe the huge XP download file itself gets erased by post-install scripts (or post unzipping scripts).
