Download XP Mode from a different computer

I need to download XP mode for one of our Windows 7 Professional computers. However, our development workstations are not allowed directly on the internet for security reasons. I'm trying to download it from another computer and transfer it, but I can't get the download to go (since it's not a Windows 7 computer). Is there a stand-alone installer, or some other method of doing this?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

Try this link: Download details: Windows XP Mode. I tried just tried it on a Virtual Machine running Vista 64-bit and all it asked was to verify that Windows was genuine as it does at the Microsoft Download Center for some things. Should also work in XP.

Hello teleute Welcome to SF!

Another option to consider for a machine not connected directly online would be the VM ware's VMLite XP Mode Version 3.2.6 for Windows 7 is ready

That will run the XP Mode on old systems that lack the virtualization support for older Intel Celeron/P4 or AMD preSocket AM2 model boards. The integrated components feature for access to drives is supported as well.

You simply download and save the downloads for the XP Mode and the VPC or VMLite for transfer over by removable media or a usb flash drive. Just be sure to sweep any flash drive to and from systems with protection programs to prevent any bugs from being passed along.
