XP Mode Application to use Host IE8/Outlook
I have a client that I just installed 2 new PCs with Windows 7 Pro and enabled XP mode for both of them so they could run a legacy application. The legacy application runs perfectly in this setup, but one function inside of it opens up a webpage to show a generated PDF file. When it launches the webpage, it is using the IE6 install and the Adobe Reader X install from the XP Mode machine. When a user attempts to send a copy of the PDF document, they are presented with a setup wizard for Outlook Express from the XP Mode machine. What I would like to happen is when they initiate the function in the program, that it would open the webpage in the Host OS IE8 and use the Adobe Reader X install from the Host OS as well. That way when a user wants to send the PDF file, it will use the Outlook 2007 install on the Host OS as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to configure this, or would this need to be something written inside of the legacy application? Please help me out. Thank you.
