Hey all, this is my first post
K so here's my dilemma.
I'm a tech at a GM dealer and all software used by GM has to be ran on XP. I have windows 7 RC and use that for the most part of the day except for when doing programming. The software for our programming equipment wont install on Windows 7. I have got it to work on Vista before tho. Anyway, I'm not worried about getting it to work on 7 since I've installed and love the Virtual XP machine, it work's great except for one little issue.
The tool we use to do module programming on vehicles is called an MDI (multiple diagnostic interface). It's a wireless unit the plugs into the vehicles DLC (data link connector) and programs modules on the vehicle wirelessly through the shops wifi. There is a desktop application to setup and communicate with the tool called the MDI manager. Initial setup is done with the MDI attached to the computer via USB. Once the setup is done, the computer is supposed to see it wirelessly when it is connected to the vehicle.
I can access the web and see other network devices through the virtual machine no problem, but when I hook the MDI up, the computer never sees it.
Anyone have any thoughts or need more info?!?!
