Does Windows Virtual PC - XP Mode drain bandwidth?

I am just starting using Virtual PC - XP Mode in my office. I use it mostly for using a remote access application to connect to other PCs which are still in XP. The remote access application is not compatible with 7, hence XP Mode.

With my Network Monitor tool, I noticed VPC drains bandwidth, and quite huge too within a short time range.

Could anyone confirm that? If the network monitoring tool shows so, I assume it is true that VPC does drain bandwidth.
If it is true, then it won't be good for my office environment since excessive bandwidth usage will be monitored, even for office purpose.

I use XP mode myself. I have no problems with bandwidth, I turned off the auto update on xp mode. What network monitoring tools u're using?

    Hi,

I do not think XPM reserves any bandwidth.

Maybe you use a bandwidth intensive application at start-up of your virtual machine.

Up till now, my virtual machine only uses bandwidth, when I download something.

    Otherwise the connection is idle.

It should not drain more bandwidht than a traditional Win XP installation. Cheers!
