    Specs for Win 2003 for Virtual PC


    Hi can you tell me the recommended or minimum specs for Windows Server 2003? This is for a Virtual PC by the way

    I would say, about the same as XP mode.

    Hi there.

    I've installed to a usb drive --and it runs fine from a Netbook.

    The main problem with Virtual Machines is that they just EAT ram for breakfast.

    You need to have at least 4GB of RAM on your host computer --then even a 1GB W2K3 server VM will run just fine.

    For typical applications the GUEST VM won't be intensively CPU bound so processing power (at least on Home computing systems) isn't normally a problem.

    Forget about XP mode -- run from Virtual box or vmware.
