Hey guys,
is there anyway I can take Virtual PC for Windows 7 and load Windows 2000 or Longhorn on it - or is it only for XP?

how would I load Windows 2000 on it?
First off, which one?
You'll need to create a Virtual Machine and set it up for W2K Pro and then go from there.
I haven't used VPC in a long time (and that was for 5 minutes) but I can walk you through VBox if you want to try that.....
Just thought Id dig out my old win2k disc and try it out using VB. It has installed. It wasnt able to find base system device or video controller (vga compatible).
You CAN run Windows 2000 as a Windows 7 Virtual PC client VERY nicely. It will provide networking and high resolution. Here is what you need to do: 1. Install with disk. 2. Install sp4 3. Install rollup 1. 4. Install VPC2004 additions, the new ones don't work. You can also Google how to slipstream sp4 onto an install disk or iso file. This may violate Microsoft license however.
Yeah, Windows 2000 would be a snap on VMware, VirtualBox, or Virtual PC. As for Longhorn, if you're referring to the beta builds of the original Longhorn, that would be tougher due to lack of driver support and it not being exactly XP or Vista but you can certainly try. I've tried in VMware Workstation and have been unable to get the NIC to work so no internet.
Im using 2k SP4 Rollup 2, Windows XP SP3, Windows 98Se, Ubuntu, Fedora on VirtualBox and runs in seamless mode all but 98se since there are no drivers for OS but works with DOS with Soundblaster 16 drivers (Floppy ISO) and Vesa Drivers from S3 (Floppy ISO) and i can run all my old games on XP/2000 and 98SE for DOS games better than DosBox
