One way is to create a shared folder in Windows 7 and move your DOS programs there. Start your XP and copy the files from the shared folder to a folder on your XP machine then run the DOS programs from there. You'll only have to do this once. After that, the DOS programs will be on the XP machine.
the host folders are there, look at H: drive inside your vm. Your screenshot already shows that.
click c: d: e: to access host files, you can also do control-c/v for files between host and vm. VMLite runs much faster than ms xp mode. File transfer is also much faster.
please pologize but did not understand.
Where to do these steps?
In the Windows 7 or in the virtual Windows XP?
Can you plese tell step by step the procedure?
Thanks
from your screenshot, inside vp vm, click H:\c, you will find all of your files, you can copy files to c: drive in xp vm.
Ok copied the EXE staying in the Virtual machine file from the
The host (H:\c to the C: of the virtual machine.
If i run the file from the virtual XP it works but how to run it from Windows 7?
I've tried to have a look in the Windows 7 in
Start/All Programs/VMLite Workstation/VMLite XP Mode Applications
but i cannot find any file that i have to run from windows 7
where am i missing?
you can try to create a shortcut to xp vm's Start menu, vmlite will auto add a shortcut on your windows 7 host. Just play with it, and you will get an idea.
i have tried to create shortcuts in several parts of XP VM but i never see it in windows 7.
I created it on the dsktop, in the Start Menu, In Programs but nothing.
in your host windows 7, delete that shortcuts folder for your xp vm, when you restart vm, it will try to regenerate the shortcuts.
