Kubuntu in VirtualBox disables Windows audio

When running Kubuntu in Sun VirtualBox it disables Windows audio devices. Only way to re-enable audio seems to be reboot. When running Ubuntu, it's OK. No problems with Windows devices. Both Kubuntu and Ubuntu v. 9.04.

I like KDE more than Gnome, that's the reason for Kubuntu.

    Any ideas?

Have you attempted to install the KDE environment onto Ubuntu to see if it exhibits the same behavior? I don't usually download or use kubuntu, but I have installed the desktop before using the command below.
    sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

You can then choose which environment you want from the login screen.

Yeah, I've installed KDE on Ubuntu. This is not so much a problem, I just want to know why Kubuntu is doing this.

Maybe I'll give this a shot and see if I can duplicate. Which version of Kbuntu and which version of VirtualBox are you using?

Out of curiosity, have you tried with any of the 3.x releases of VirtualBox? I think 3.0.4 came out a short while ago?
