XP mode INTERNET faster??
I noticed today that my download speeds went for 1.08 mb/s to 1.34 mb/s when I am in xp mode.

That's possible for many reasons.
Firstly, on XP you have less traffic-intesive services running.. IPv4 on XP, while IPv4/6 on Win7. Homegroup polling on Win7, but the verly likely culprit is better driver support for your NIC on XP.
Btw, why so bold?
Also in XPM, you have much less running services and applications. Virtualised OSs are bare minimum to get things running.

Just by comparison, currently in Win7 I have 64 processes running, whereas in windows 2000 in virtualbox theres only 20.
I tweaked the hell out of W2K back in the days before nLite n stuff. 10 processes. Look at the thread count...99
