They didn't promise you would get Windows XP itself, but a virtual machine pre-validated copy of Windows XP. There is a difference.
A complete installation of XP is going on the machine with XP mode anyway. Yet they are going lose my purchase of a more expensive version of Win7 because they are (apparently) going to insist that I use an inefficient install method vs. one that would actually work for users like me.

To me that just seems dumb. And I'm actually one of the owners of the company. Maybe I should give Ballmer a call and tell him I'm going to vote my 400 shares to have him thrown out. I bet that would get some quick action...

It would. A chortle, a click. Dial tone.

First of all, I have to say this forum is fascinating. there is a TON of helpful knowledge around here. Yes, I'm a newbie.
I'm running a home build Pentium 4H 3.0 ghz with 2 gig of ram and an old radeon 300X. Dual booting with winxp and RC1 is a breeze. I've had no problem with mutli-tasking. No freezes or stalls anywhere. Is the full version of Win 7 ultimate going to work this easy for me? Cause it's going on here Oct. 23rd and I won't be worrying about a virtualized XP that my pentium can't handle.

Yeah, I tried it out and then found out that my CPU did not work with it but really I can just get XP if I really need it.

I downloaded it..installed it, and it works quite well for me. I'm using duel monitors and from what I can tell that is the way to go, I can drag from win7 desktop to xp desktop. It's like having a duel boot PC but at the same time. I did find out one thing though..The only way I could get it to run was with a fresh install of the win7 untouched ISO
