attach a Virtual Hard Disk to install XP?

Does anyone know if there is a way to open the Command Prompt during Windows XP installation (booted from CD) and find a way to attach a Virtual Hard Disk so you could install XP on it (just like with Windows 7 and 8)?

Ah, thanks! But apparently it's a trial version that will expire in November...are there any free options to that?

Windows 7 and 8 were made specifically with the capability to boot from VHDs. Windows XP is not, so are there free options? Maybe but I have never seen one.

VBoot is the most well known, and reliable, so if it's important I would use the advice already given to you from Huisinro.
