Accessing the file system of a Virtual Application

    Hi Everyone,

I have setup some monitoring software in an XP Virtual Application. More specifically I used the "Virtual Applications: The 'Invisible' Third Mode" method described here.

My challenge is that I need to access the applications database file, and save it to a location on the host computer. It seems to me that the only way to save files from the Virtual Application is through the program itself, and because the program hasn't been designed to save the database file (e.g.: there is no "File - Save DB" command) I am stuck.

If I had setup a Virtual Machine and then installed the software into it I would have the advantage of being able to access the guest file system, however I would not have been able to start my monitoring software whenever a user logs onto the computer.

Is there any way of accessing the host system of a Virtual Application?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    David

have you tried uploading it to a file server online, or seting up a vnp on the virtual pc which you can then access from the host by switching it

I still think it would be a beter idea to set up a vnp as you can share whole folder at once
