I didnt know you can create "New Virtual Machines" on VPC, didnt see it on the tool bar lol, just tried it and was able to boot from DVD...sooo technically i could boot to my ghost 2003 boot CD and dump my ghost image onto this new VM. Will try it tonight however i'm running how of space lol.

The chipset, HAL and drivers (among other things) will be drastically different in a VM than on a random physical computer. A straight load of a ghost image of XP from a random computer will not boot into a VM.

You will likely be forced to use a converter tool, like the one i posted.

Hmm how interesting. Will look into that too. However i do not believe the drivers will be too much of an issue, as i was able to install almost mosft of my work apps. The unknown factor here might be space, RAM and yeh chipset but it's a virtual machine so it should mimic whatever the chipset etc from the image...right?

No, thats not really how it works.

Its all virtual devices that make the VM think its on a phyiscal computer, it wont just pretend it was whatever computer it was on last.

Damnit why can't Ghost detect my USB HDD though VM? This happened before to normal machine and i end up needing to disable USB 1.1s in my System Device. Did this and it still not doing it thru VM.

Perhaps VM wasn't able to install USB support driver ???

I think it could be my T60's USB ports....freakn ports don't work for USB 2.0 on some..
