Maybe my description was a bit hectic,i'll try to clarify.I am using disk2vhd to convert my current OS into a virtual disk.I cant use the created vhd to boot up in VBox 4.2.10,tried assigning various controllers,am I missing something?I was able to,while on the previous version of VBox,but was prompted to upgrade to newer version and its no go now,any thoughts?

Not really but you can go back to 4.2.8. You may have to completely uninstall 4.2.10 first. The old versions are here.https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds
