Yeah, it's just a virtual machine. It's not Windows XP. That's what I was trying to say. It's like, I dunno, it's hard to explain.
No it is XP just in a VM so should suffer the same fate as a physical version.
Thank you z3r010 that's what I wanted to know :)

It's a preset VM, so you can just use VMWare to set up any kind of a virtual machine that you want.

    Hi

Does XP Mode have the same support deadline as Windows XP ?, any advice/info appreciated :)
Windows XP Mode is simply a fully working Windows XP Professional SP3 virtual machine running on Microsoft Virtual PC and as such it works, behaves and is supported exactly as any computer (physical or virtual) running Windows XP Professional SP3.

A Microsoft Virtual PC virtual machine running any type of Windows XP (Home, MCE or Professional, self installed from own install media or pre-made XP Mode) can be in-place upgraded to Windows Vista, or upgraded normally by replacing the OS completely saving existing user data to a Windows.old folder. Vista can also be clean installed to a Microsoft Virtual PC virtual machine using any valid install media.
