    RDP alternative or pfSense

I have a Windows 7 Pro desktop that I would like to RDP to when I'm away. I'm now using the default RDP client (or Remmina in Linux) and that works fine but it's not exactly your most secure solution.

What should I do? What if I virtualize my W7 desktop and installed pfSense on one of the VM's?

I'm a bit in the dark as to what to do. Any advice is highly appreciated.

I prefer TeamViewer for remote access. It's free for personal use and very easy to setup and use.

I use TeamViewer on a regular basis. It's great for troubleshooting but not if you want to work on a remote machine all day long. Hence the RDP question. :)
