    Virtual Box ubuntu xamp server


    Greetings,
    I have win 7 ultimate as host with wamp server on it.
    Also virtualbox with ubuntu as guest.
    I would like to download and install Xamp server on guest which is ubuntu.
    Shall it be done the same way as I installed wamp on host? Do I have to consider a new port for Xamp?
    And if there are other issues I have to take care of kindly let me know.

    Since they're effectively different "computers", same port will do, as those will be running in different hosts anyway. If you want to access the guess server from the host make sure you do a port forwarding on NAT setting or use bridged network on VirtualBox.
    Otherwise they behave exactly the same way, as if it were a real system.
