AutoCAD 2007 on Virtual XP Machine -- multi-core CPU not recognized?

Hi,

Recently, I installed a VM XP Machine, on which I've been using AutoCAD 2007, which runs nicely. The one issue I have relates to the RENDER command.

On my late true XP machine (Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading), AutoCAD RENDER took advantage of both threads. One saw two "tiles" scamper about the render preview, simultaneously working to build the final image.

I am now running Win 7 Pro 64-bit on a Dell desktop with a CORE 2 vPro (Duo). Under XP on the VM, RENDER seems oblivious to the second core of the CPU -- the render preview is built only one "tile" at a time, and though the CPU is nominally faster, the elapsed time need to render the same image is more than twice as long as it was on the P4 box.

Does the Virtual XP Machine not support use of multiple cores? Is there possibly an XP setting that I'm overlooking? Is it a partial incompatibility between the VM and AutoCAD 2007?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
