Folder on Attached VHD taking Forever to Load

I'm trying to access some files in my user folder from my Windows image backup stored on an external hard drive. I've attached the VHD and navigated to the Users folder, but when I click on my folder and grant permission, the green loading bar starts to progress then stays in the same spot near the end. This has been going on for awhile and I don't know if it's ever going to load or not.

The folder optimization is set to General Items, and I don't know what else to try.
Does my user folder simply have so many items that it's causing the long loading time?

Well, after a little more time it loaded up.

Solved, unless someone has any input on how to make it load faster next time. :P
