Windows 7: Problem saving to host drives in seamless mode

Problem saving to host drives in seamless mode

I've got Visual InterDev 6 installed using Seamless XP Mode.

If I open a file on the host disk, which opens interdev I cannot save any changes, and I get this error:

"The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open"

If I save to a new file in the same folder, it saves ok, but any subsequent edits return the same error if I try to save.

Is this a permissions problem with windows 7 and XP mode, or a quirk with the old interdev software?

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
Problem saving to host drives XP Mode

No, it cannot be related to interdev software

I have exactly the same problem and trying hard for a solution

In my case, saving from within Visual Studio 2003 raises this error

As a workaround, I move the project location to XP Mode - XP C drive

and when I finish my work, update VSS and move the project location back to Win7 D drive

I move back to Win7 as a precaution so that if in case XP Mode fails, I do have a copy...

Hope MS will suggest a proper solution or at least a workaround for this issue

"XP Mode" = simply VirtualPC + WinXP guestOS ? Seamless or full VM?
I am thinking about buying Win7 but want to clarify the feature "XP Mode". As you know Win7 Home contains in contrast to Windows 7 Pro no "XP mode". So I wonder what exactly this "XP mode" is. If I take Win7 Home then install VirtualPC and install WinXP inside as a guestOS VM. Is this the...

XP Mode seamless mode
When I close out of an application running in seamless mode, the XP Mode virtual machine indicates that it is still running (not shut down or hibernating). I think this is different from the behavior under Windows 7 RC with XP Mode beta. Is there a way to specify that the machine must...
