VMware Windows 7 32bit downloading .exe from web issue

    Hey Guys,

I have been having an interesting issue I just can seem to solve.

So, I retired my xp 32bit VM and wanted to create a 32bit windows 7 VM to take its place.

Oddly enough no matter if I load from a clean snapshot or preform a clean installation the problem comes back.

The network is running in bridged mode as are all my other VM's and I have no issues with them.

    Windows 7 is fully updated.

Now what happens is when I try to download any kind of installation for an application. like let’s say bit defender or ccleaner.
Firefox gives me a Gah your tab just crashed, but it still downloads the .exe
Internet explorer the download will fail but if I keep hitting retry sometimes it downloads.
not matter what browser I use to download a .exe I end up getting a NSIS error
installer integrity check has failed. Common causes included incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer’s author to obtain a new copy.

Any idea as to what this can be. Windows 7 issue or bad update patch? An issue with VMware.
    I have a windows 7 64bit os and windows 10 64bit and don’t have this issue.

By all means ask me for any other information that I can provided that may help with troubleshooting.

The only thing I can think of is that the VM is corrupt it some way. Did you install 7 from an ISO image?

Inside the VMware image folder in the My Documents folder are logs. You can have a look over those. You might want to use Notepad ++.

I don't use VMware Workstation, but VMware Workstation Player. I can't say I've had any issues with 7.

Maybe the installer is no configured properly.

For example, setup.exe /NCRC skips CRC checks in the installer.

Run installer from command prompt, with full path to setup.exe.

I tried running the one of the application setups.exe in cmd and admin cmd stil recieved same error, I'll look into other commands as / NCRC as I tried that as well and the result was the same.

I checked my event log, no errors when connecting to the network and downloading.

What I did notice today is from google I tried to get to glasswire download and the first time the page cannot be displayed, refreshed came up. Nothing in the event logs.

I did use an ISO and that what I was thinking the first time. I did rebuild the VM from scratch again and located a different ISO to use. But ended up with the same result. May have to see if someone else I know has a Disk or ISO. I wish the good old days of digital river were still around.

Hmm I'll have to check those logs and and see if I notice anything out of the ordinary.

Workstation player is just about the same its really just free for home use, Pro just has a bunch more features really.
