Need to access usb drive letter at command prompt in XP mode

I have access to usb drive in xp move via explorer with no issues. But cannot access it via a DOS prompt.

    Am I missing something?

In XP Mode your local drives are accessed as if they were network drives eg. your host machine's C: drive is seen as \\tsclient\C

You just need to map a drive letter for any local drive that you want to access from a command prompt.

    Thanks Bree.

The drive is showing in XP mode as the drive letter assigned in the host machine. In the "usb" drop down it is showing as shared.

The "map" command is not recognized in xp mode. ??

The command is not 'map', it is 'NET USE'. Type NET HELP USE for the full syntax. I don't have XP Mode on any of my machines, but I do have Hyper-V where local drives are accessed in much the same way through \\tsclient. @Kari is an expert and will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the command you need would (assuming your usb is E) be:

    NET USE E: \\tsclient\E

Duh!! Many thanks, a customer is taking me back to something that I did close to 10 years ago. It gives me a warm feeling of encouragement that age has not diminished my ability to misplace my mind.

    Stay safe!

    Thanks again,
