    Unwanted Drive Won't Delete

    Windows 10 Pro 21H1.

    Hello again,

I created a Linux Mind flash drive from an .ISO

Whilst I now have Mint on the flash drive (drive G:), the downloaded .ISO (pretending to be drive I:) cannot be deleted - file is in use - nothing like it in Task Manager, so I can't get rid of it. Windows 10 Disc Management won't let me delete the volume.

How do I get rid of this artificial drive ?

    Hello mate,

Double check to make sure you unmounted the ISO like below first. Afterwards, you should be able to delete the ISO.

    Unwanted Drive Won't Delete [SOLVED]

    Thanks for the replies,

I had double clicked on the the .ISO which mounted it.

A reboot and delete solved the problem.

    Great news.

Restarting the computer would dismount any mounted ISO files.
