Virtual PC and Virtual XP

My system says I have both these programs installed on my system but I am not able to find them. How do I search to see if the programs are installed?

Or how do I reinstall? Every time I try it tells me the programs are installed and wont fix or reinstall them.

Thanks for the help. It seems the system didn't start the service. Once I got the service started I was able to see the Virtural PC in my program list.

OK, i have something similar but not. I have all the programs running. I have XP mode running in my list of virtual systems but I can't get it to open. I do the START and all programs, etc and the mouse spins for a moment and then nothing! I did a reboot of Win 7 and the best I got was "no permission to start this program'. I am the admin, i am a user with full control. So where am i without permission? I will try the comment about C:\Users\Your_username\Virtual Machines folder and see if it works. As of now many hours without success. i am getting well versed on this though. any comments appreciated.

Yes, BIOS is fine. Someone said I have to give permissions to open and use folders and files as it was not inherited. His reference was: Windows 7 Take Ownership & Grant Permissions to Access Files & Folder

I am trying to do this now but I get a 'inconsistency' for granting permission to that folder with users and now i might have messed that up. I am trying to bring it back to the original settings. Funny how when we change things and it should be 'easy' that it always ends up taking hours and hours to make it work.
If you have other suggestions, please share them. I will put another reply if I get this to work with the above suggestion.

Ok, I reloaded Win 7 totally so the system was empty of any mistakes I might have made earlier. Clean install of both XP Mode and Virtual. Bios is active. I also went to the site above and downloaded a program for 'right click take ownership' and did that.
Now what was different this time was when I clicked start, all programs, virtural and then XP mode nothing happened, so i went to start, all programs, Virtual and it openned a window with the virtual drives on it. None were there so I created one. Now it is there and "hibernating". I right mouse clicked to make sure i owned it and even then it will not fire up. I went back to start, all prgrams, vitual PC and XP mode and still, nothing happens. The mouse spins for a few moments and the hard drive runs also and then nothing. Really got me beat this time.

Thanks for the detailed help. I am reasonably well educated on computers so with your help i should be able to fix it. So give me today to work on it and i will report back.
