    Uninstalling XP Mode

After uninstalling XP mode I still find both folders in Programs and one of the files takes up 1.13 Gb.
Trying to delete the folders or the files within comes back with a "Need System permission to complete this task".

Take ownership of the folders you need to delete and try again.

This tool doesn't work on 7. I am having a horrible time deleting Win XP Mode and Virtual Machine folders and files. Message is I need "System Permission" or "Trusted Installer".

    What next?

It does work with W7, else you can change the ACL to change you as owner & change the permissions for you to full control.

Here's the reg file that I got from this site. It puts a shortcut in when you right-click that allows you to take ownership.

I ran the Reg Tool Shortcut and I didn't get the shortcut. I got nothing, twice.

I finally did figure it out and it was about Permissions. It all disappeared when I took ownership CORRECTLY.
Then I just had to delete the update. Badda Bing Badda Boom problem solved.
    1.3 Gb restored.

    Thanks very much.
