Windows 7 Virtual PC - Part 2 will not install

Hello

I have a Gateway PC with Windows 7 Ulitmate - downloaded the havdetection tool from Microsoft to ensure virtual pc would run - too completes fine - says I ready to go.

Download and installed Windows XP mode from
Download Windows XP Mode
installed without issue

Went to install the second part (Windows Virtual PC) and I get an error: "This update is not applicable to your computer"

I also noted, there is directions at the bottom of the microsoft page:
Once you have installed Windows XP Mode, click the Windows 7 Start button , then select All Programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode to begin setup. For information on how to set up Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode, check out "Running Windows XP Mode with Windows Virtual PC" on the Support and Videos page.

But I do not have Windows Virtual PC from All Programs.

I tried rebooting a few times and re-installing the first program, but just sayes it is already installed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreaicated!

While I do not see Windows Virtual PC from all programs, I did check under C:\Programs Files and it is there

Not sure if that helps or hurts??

I trust that you have enabled VT in your BIOS?

Are you guessing or have you actually gone into your BIOS and enabled VT option?

Hello

Sorry - not guessing I have double checked - it is turned on. I turned it off, rebooted and and ran the verification tool - sayes the computer is available for VT and need to turn on in BIOS. I have turned VT back on in the BIOS now.

I ran the second part again - same message. I'm on a 32-bit machine and I double checked - I'm running the file Windows6.1KB58559-x86. The exact text of the error: This update is not applicable to your computer

Thanks so much for any suggestions.

I wondering if the issue is part one (file WindowsXPMode_en_us). On the MS site it sayes when you run this file and it completes, you should have in the globe - then all programs a file called Windows XP Mode - I do not have this in the globle. However, on C:\Program Files there is a directory called Windows XP Mode with the following files:
Directory called Tutorial
Key (text file)
VXPEULA (text file)
Windows XP Mode base.vhd

That is it - can someone else on a 32-bit machine check and see if you have more or different files?

I have uninstalled, redownloaded and re-install this program file several times - no luck

Thanks again for your help.

There has been talks about the build ie RTC or RC and that you may need to get the correct version of Windows6.1KB58559-x86. If you got the Os with the machine (OEM version), might be best to contact Microsoft.

Check for a BIOS update. Some motherboards are apparently not doing virtualization as Windows wants it, even when the bios says it is enabled.

I have a question for you all. I have installed XP and it is running. I have no window on my Win 7 desktop (which it claims I should) and so I can see the XP mode, it is "running" but I can't get it to come up on my screen. I deleted it and reloaded XP mode and shut my computer down. When I reboot it says XP mode is hibernating but again I can't open it? I have checked all my permissions. I am the admin, i am the only user. I have full control. So what am i missing?
