cannot use Web camera in XP mode

I discovered after upgrading to a new PC with Windows 7 that my Logitech web camera is incompatible. So I thought maybe I could run it in XP mode. So I installed the software, and was prompted to plug-in my camera. Unfortunately it did not recognize my camera. However, if my camera is plugged in, the icon for the camera appears in the notification section beside the clock. Any ideas on why it might not work? This is puzzling to me since my camera worked perfectly in Windows XP before.

Hi dmehling,

What model is your Logitech camera? To use it in XP Mode, you will need to locate and install the appropriate XP drivers.

I have a QuickCam for Notebooks Pro. I downloaded and installed the drivers. It is listed under device manager, but it says that it is not working properly.

Hi dmehling,

Sorry for the delay. Are you using Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Try the following solution and please let us know how it works: "Unsupported" Logitech webcam on Windows 7 | Creative Code Design

I'm using the 64-bit version. Thanks for suggesting that particular solution but it didn't work for me. No matter which version of the Quick Cam software I try, I get a message saying that it is incompatible with my OS. I cannot ignore those messages; they will not allow me to proceed any further. I figured that trying to go through Windows XP mode would solve the issue, but apparently that doesn't work either.
