Your best guess, a printer question

After two weeks of trying to setup a dual boot using the tutorials here. I find out the Bios in my Dell Studio 1558 Laptop will not allow Windows XP install.
I have a very nice Olypmpus P-440 Thermal photo printer. This printer was discontinued by Olympus 2 or 3 years ago, so no new driver updates since windows xp. I have tried installing drivers in Wndows XP compatability mode, but NO GO.

Most here are alot smarter than me. Do believe these drivers would work in win7 XP mode? I currently have Win7 Home and don't want to upgrade to Pro if it's not going to work. Printer runs on USB connection.

    Thanks

I can't answer your question specifically, but can suggest a workaround. You can download a short-lived version of Windows 7 Enterprise version for free, either 64 or 32-bit, from Microsoft. If you install this on your machine, you can then download & install WinXP mode to actually test the drivers on your machine. If it works for you, there's no reason Win 7 Pro wouldn't also.
