    Virtual box


    Does virtual box work on windows 7 also is it able to run ubuntu from it ? i am not to familiar with what it actually thanks =D

    Thanks for the quick replies i read that a lot of people install unbuntu 32 bit would that work on a 64 bit PC ?

    Yeah, Virtual Box works very well...as does VMWare Player. It's great having choices and options all for free when it comes to this kind of stuff.

    Which would you rather use i have a problem with virtual box when i try and switch the processors it can have running it i get an Error its keeping me to using only one processor. I have a AMD ATHLON x2 With 3gigs of ram on windows 7 64 Bit. It runs ok with one processor but when i open a demanding program like gimp then you can see a huge performance loss.

    Gimp is certainly not your typical program you want to run in a virtual partition - too demanding on resources.

    Speaking of VB I see they just updated(3.1.6). I'm new to VB so I'm wondering what others experience is afa just installing the update on top of a previous edition. The odds of being hosed I guess is what I mean(unless there's some other methodology other than just running the installer?) I only have on VM but even though I didn't put all that much into it I'm lazy and hate to waste it when I do make some effort. :)
