XP Mode Virtual PC VHD ==> Vmware format

    Hi all
Anybody got a utility or could post a link where I can convert a "Virtual PC" VHD into "Vmware format".

What I want to do is to see if I can do a V2P (Virtual to Physical) conversion and allowing for the fact I *might* get BSOD's at boot see if I can create a "Real Windows XP" disk from the Virtual PC XP compatability mode one.

I can use enough V2P software once I get it into "Vmware" format.

I'd like to see also if it requires "activation" once I get a real XP disk out of it. -- The serial number might be a problem since the "downloads from the little green devil" will have the same Serial number for the "built in Windows VHD" system. However from within the Virtual PC environment it did allow a "normal windows update" and it's already activated. Changing the memory size from 256 MD ==> 2GB also didn't request a "re-activation" so I'm hopeful.

    Will keep you posted.

    Cheers
    jimbo

you can use qemu to change it to a raw format and then convert it to a vmdk...:)
it will give a BSOD since you are running a different "motherboard" and since (i can only remember winxp) you change it going from VPC to vmware...
the only way would be to do a sysrep and clean it so that its ready for "deployment" tovmware...
