Virtual PC Beta in Windows 7, Unresponsive
Hi there,
I'm using the new Virtual PC Beta with Windows 7 RC1. Although everything works, one thing I am finding is that it is extremely unresponsive, I was wondering if this was a common problem or whether there was an immediate fix?
Basically what happens is the CPU erratically jumps from around 20% to 80% and higher for most of the time even though the host pc CPU is literally around the 0-3% mark. Occasionally I get a small break where the CPU will stabalise at only a few %, this will last for about 10 seconds then it will go back again.
Processes currently consuming CPU time are,
explorer.exe, which is bouncing around 9% to 35% when idle.
taskmgr.exe, presumably updating the display.
devenv.exe (Visual Studio 2008), which is bouncing from 1% to 8% even though it's not currently doing anything.
If I close Visual Studio the problem persists so I know it's nothing I'm currently developing on. This whole sluggish feeling means that typing very rarely appears as I press the key, more like 1-2 seconds after, which is getting quite annoying.
Unfortunately I'm not 100% that I can revert back to the previous Virtual PC due to the Integration Features that have been installed, and presumably this is what is causing the problem?
Anyone else noticing this? Cheers in advance.
Nick.
