Not good.
Thanks! I just checked one of the notebooks and it says "pending" for this update now. I'll try turning off ESET with msconfig and reboot right now!

Edit: Just turning off NOD32 didn't seem to do anything. I found a post on ESET's forums about the issue. Make sure you have the latest virus signature file (5338 or later), uninstall the pending update using Control Panel > Programs and Features > Installed Updates then reboot and try Windows Updates again. It worked for me!

I agree, If you had already installed the update and it didn't work, turning off Eset won't change a thing.

I rolled back with Acronis, turned off Eset and installed. All went well. Database signature or software version were one of the things that I suspected could be an issue

Hi all,

My desktop recently installed this security update & messed up my internet connection.

It installed ok & restarted ok, OS windows 7 with microsoft security essentials running a windows firewall. IE8 so everything is bog standard & (supposedly) hassle free......any advice.

The only fix I have managed so far is to system restore to an earlier point which fixes the problem but when I shut my desktop down in installs the update & I have to system restore again.....I have done this 4 times now.

Please help.

I run a very tight ship thanks to you folks and I keep a regular check on my services page to make sure nothing is starting that shouldn't. BIOS - Incremental updates to latest vrsn or direct update to latest?
Greetings! I have Acer Aspire 5750G. My current BIOS version is 1.07. The latest version is 1.12. There are a few versions in between. Should I do incremental updates and reach 1.12 or should I just go direct to 1.12? Many Thanks!
