    This Copy is not Genuine

I'm having a problem here. I have to licenses... one installed on my desktop and one installed on my laptop. My laptop suddenly will not load the desktop and gives me a message that my copy is not Genuine. I think maybe I got the keys mixed up and used the same one for both machines. I'd like to enter the good key on the laptop, but the machine won't let me do anything... the desktop will not load at all. I don't want to reinstall because I have files that I don't want to lose. Advice?

If it worked after you put the keys in then stopped it isnt the keys. Check the system time on both machines.

I'm sorry... I may have mis-spoke... When I said "the desktop will not load" I meant that the desktop on the laptop... My desktop computer still works fine...

What do you mean by checking the system time?

if you can't get to your desktop, try entering your bios on startup to check your system time (I suspect zigzag is getting at dying/dead cmos battery, or a reset possibly)

This sounds odd I know but if your computer time is more than a tiny bit off win 7 as an anti theft (setting clock back months) device says it isnt genuine.

Check your system time by right clicking clock>set date time>synchronize time. One both machines

You seem to have two separate problems. Do you mean that the laptop is not loading windows? Where does it stop? have you tried getting into safe mode? You can try a startup repair using the win7 install dvd.
