    Cannot enable windows 7


    I could not locate an answer to this question - so here I go.

    Specifications:
    -Windows 7 x64 version: 6.1.7600 Build 7600
    -Intel i7 965

    When I go to,
    Windows update > Change settings
    all of the options to enable updates are grayed out. Currently "Important updates" are disabled as well as everything else "recommended updates" & "Who can install updates".

    I am the only user on this computer, and am 100% positive I am admin. I am not a part of a group policy.

    I am using Kaspersky Internet security, and have disabled it yet I am still unable to re-activate windows updates.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Windows Update - Enable or Disable "Who can install updates" Setting

    Here is tutorial how to turn them on and off.

    This may work.

    * Windows provides a built-in troubleshooter that can automatically find and fix some common problems with Windows Update.

    • Open the Windows Update troubleshooter by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under System and Security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.

I try to enable Windows 7 search but there is a problem : 1) Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features on or off > Check Windows Search 2) Restart 3) After restart computer says : "Do not close computer etc" Configuring ... But when goes to 85% says : Failed to ... and Reverting...
I am not able to use netsh routing commands on WIndows 7. These commands work on Windows XP. Upon research I found that Windows 7 does not support routing commands. On Vista there was workaround by using "netsh add helper ipmontr.dll" and "netsh add helper ippromon.dll" but these commands does not...
