You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk that Windows is installed on (usually drive C), and then click Properties. The drive that Windows is installed on displays the Windows icon.
3. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
4. Select both the Automatically fix file system errors check box and the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
5. Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. If you're prompted to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer, close all programs and restart your computer before proceeding to the next steps.

For best results, don't use your computer for any other tasks while it's checking for errors.

If that doesn't work try the below link. Run this up to three times to fix registry. It will tell you it is done and can't fix everything. Run it again. It takes multiple passes to repair everything.
