Alright so running the aggressive windows update components allowed me to successfully download and install the .net framework 4 update! Thank you!

However, I still can't download the windows 7 x64 bit update so Im running the system files scan now.

Also, can you include the error code relating to each failed update. Thanks!

I disagree. I was amazed how fast you did it! There was a lot to do, and you did it in about 1/2 hour. The usual minimum is at least 24 hours. And not only that, but you did it all perfectly first time! You did a fantastic job! Well done!

I have just looked at your logs.

Here is the interesting one (CheckSUR.log)

You have two damaged manifests. This is not too bad. Basically (assuming that nothing odd happens) you have the easiest logs to fix. Not too bad.

Of course, with computers, you never can guarantee, but normally this would not be too hard to fix.

Give me a few minutes to make my next post!

    Thanks!

EDIT: This is no longer applicable. I managed to work it out with some careful Google searching. You are having all the luck today! See below posts!

These manifests come from a particular update. I work out what update, I extract the update, I supply you with the extracted manifests, and we put them onto your System. We re-run System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and then if it thinks that the issue has been solved, we try Windows Update (with fingers slightly crossed, no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves that it will make no difference!)

Now, how do I find out what KBxxxxxx it came from? Tricky! I need to take a very small portion of your registry to find out. This part is just a small part which you have probably never seen before, and doesn't contain any identifiable data (as far as I know)

What local is your computer in? Is it in en-US?

    Right, please do the following:

    Elevated Command Prompt

Now paste in (must use Right Click > Paste, Ctrl-V does NOT work in Command Prompt) the following, one at a time, pressing enter after each one.

    dir C:\Windows\Servicing\Packages /s > %UserProfile%\Desktop\log1.txt

    dir C:\Windows\WinSxS /s > %UserProfile%\Desktop\log2.txt

Download the Freeware RegBak from here: Acelogix Software - Download products

Run it, and make a backup.

Navigate to C:\Windows\RegBak\{Date}\ and copy the COMPONENTS file to your Desktop.

Highlight all three files (log1.txt, log2.txt, COMPONENTS) and right click on one of them > Send to > Compressed (zipped) archive.

Now upload this zip file to RAPID SHARE

Once you have done this, copy the link, and send me a Private Message containing the link. You can PM me from this link: https://www.sevenforums.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=72393

    Thanks!

    Richard

P.S. I am only asking for it via PM, because sometimes user upload the wrong portion of the registry etc. etc. There isn't really any need to, but if it makes you happier, PM is perfectly fine!

If you are feeling advanced, and you have been into the registry before, you may want to have a look at what I shall be analysing for you, just to get the feel for it. DO NOT modify anything! JUST LOOK! The portion I am taking is HKLM\Components\ have a look at:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Components\CanonicalData\Catalogs
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Components\CanonicalData\Deployments
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Components\DerivedData\Components

I have not told you how to access this deliberately. If you know already, then by all means have a look. Otherwise, I shall just do it for you!

    Have fun!

Just been looking through the remainder of your logs. Nice result! You had quite a few corruptions, and all but two were dealt with by System Update Readiness Tool! It did a very good job!

Scratch that! Found it for you! I no longer need your registry: Here is the KB that is corrupt for you: One or more volumes are corrupted on a hard disk when a dump file is saved on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 if the hard disk space is larger than 2 terabytes

    Give me a few minutes!
