New PC never asked to be activated and what version???

So I unpackaged and set up my new HP laptop this past week and have been tweaking installs ever since.. but never did get asked during the install to activate., I believe I said later at the time as my network settings weren't up and running at that point.

anyway today I decided to investigate the activation and through Google search was able to find through a website .,that it is activated (I think) .. but the activation page shows my PC as Windows 7 Ultimate ..32 bit,, yet during a Belarc test it shows the PC as Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) (build 7600)

    Is this right?

Well you know there is a lot of programs and email-address books and music and photos and spreadsheets and accessories to put in that don't come from HP...

Hello Todd, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can also type winver in the Start Menu search box and press enter to see what edition of Windows 7 you have. I would trust what you see in Winver and the activation (system) screen.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

winver will show you what version you have, however it will not show you the architecture type (x86/x64).

The easiest way to verify the architecture type is by means of System Information.

Alternatively, do you have a SysWOW64 folder in C:\Windows ?

Those screen shots even off the same computer? Had to blow them up to make them readable (don't edit your screen shots, makes them too small to read), and this is what they both show,

The HP x64 is showing as an AMD based system with 4 GB of memory, and the Ultimate 32 bit is showing as Intel based with 3 GB of memory.

    Todd,

Could you post all the different screenshots of only your computer with this?
