    Hello!

That is good news, but there was a reason why I didn't just send you that tutorial. Winsxs and Stores are VERY picky about permissions. At the very least, you should be setting back Trusted Installer, however, my worry is that now permissions, versioning, and corruption issues, plus whatever else Driver Sweeper has done. I would so strongly recommend that you perform a System Restore, and just re-do these last few actions the correct way, so that you don't run into Clean-Install type issues over the coming months. Before it gets too late, now is your only, only chance. Please?

    System Restore

I would also not recommend Driver Sweeper, as you have now seen first hand the mess it has got your system into.

    Thanks!

I second that. I've (tried) to follow as much as I can and see if I can provide my two cents.

I am going to be blunt, because that's what I do. Hate me if you wish. I'll sleep just fine, tonight.

I see so much crap about to hit the fan. First, we still haven't confirmed that you are running a completed version of Windows 7. That in itself is a huge issue when it comes to Windows Updates or ANYTHING that Microsoft releases to the public for Windows.

Second, you're going WAY outside the scope of ANY fix that would take place to install Service Pack 1. If SP1 does not want to install for WHATEVER reason, you better believe it has a damn good reason. If you get errors, there's a reason for it. the SP1 installer is smart enough to know if it has permission to do what it has to do.

Third, changing permissions for a folder is one thing... but A core system folder is like swimming in a shark tank while bleeding from the neck. It will cause problems down the road, I will bet you loads of cash in any currency you want.

I 100% back up Richard (Niemiro) when he says to seriously just wipe it and start over... doing it the right way. Richard knows what the hell he's talking about. I PROMISE you will have more problems in the future.

    Thanks!
