Ya, thanks Doc. The snip shows status as Licensed and also the partial product key. That is a MAK key which activates online like a retail key. So if jimbo has the same stuff, and you guys didnt input the key yourself, it means the iso itself has the key embedded.

I had to input the Key from the Technet download subscription website. It said to be used for multiple installations / activations.

So jimbo would also have been required to input the key? But it doesnt appear so from his posts, thats the reason for the confusion.

Hi there
That's what I did as well -- says Multiple activations but I've only installed once so far.
I downloaded the ISO, burned to DVD and installed manually. I then used the key from my subscription.

Cheers

In other words, you thought the key you entered is a trial key? And you never checked the licensing status with the slmgr command?

I've never really run into any trouble with my multiple activation keys from Technet or MSDN. It's pretty darn rare for me to ever pull more than 1 key for the testing and such that I do at work. I just keep inputting the same key, on multiple computers, on multiple hard drives and in different testing scenarios and they just work.

Bill, there is a 90 day trial on Technet, I posted a link to it earlier. He has seem some people reference that item and he thought it was in reference to the subscription version.

Expiry date of RC is actually JUNE not MAR 2010
Hi all The difference in the expiry date bewteen WINVER and SIW has been bugging me -- I know it's a moot point since RTM will be out LONG before then but some things just stay in the brain. Anyway the REAL expiry date is based on the Licensing procedure so if you type in elevated command...
