    W7 Enterprise expiry confusion.

    Hi all
On Technet : MSDN you can download W7 Enterprise. I keep reading that this is only a 90 / 180 day trial and can't be re-activated.

All I can say is that I'm still using a copy that's nearly ONE YEAR old and it hasn't expired or popped up any nasty messages.

All MS updates work fine and it always passes the "Genuine Validation Check" when required.

So looks like some confusion about this whole issue. Maybe for Non technet subscribers you can download a trial version but for Technet it works just fine.

    Cheers

Do you restore from an image every few months or uninstall and reinstall?

Nope -- this has been a 100% stable system that hasn't been restored in all this time.

System is used very regularly and Windows Update runs every time the system connects to the Internet.

I have two computers with Enterprise running from my TechNet acct. Same way NO problems, NO exp date, All updates work, No re-installs, No Re-arms. On my Technet downloads section, it says KEY CODE for multiple activations.

Open an elevated command prompt, then type slmgr -dlv.

Hit Enter, then post a snipshot of the window that pops up.

    Hi there
that looks like the answer -- the trial is for General download whereas the Technet / MSDN downloads is the full W7 version.

    Confusion now cleared up. Thanks.
