Tried installing KB2345886 as a standalone download and tried and ran the download from the site,to no avail. Did notice that when I RAN it from the site it configured all the way to 91% usually it only configures to 75%. Don't know if that means anything. Drat!!!!

    Hi, jakedog.

I thing we're back to, as profdlt suggested, your use of Drive Cleaner.

As Andre.Ziegler said in Windows 7 SP1 fails with Code 800F0A13 - Says system components are missing (even referencing the tutorial here at Seven Forums :) ):
    check this link:

    Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Page 1) / Driver Sweeper / Phyxion.net Forums
otherwise also do the InPlace upgrade.
the link from sevenforums shows you with pictures how to do it.

Next time, DON'T USE THIS CRAPPY driver cleaner.

    {Bold added}
When the person he was helping responded with:
"This is only for ATI - Display, other drivers are not affected! If you haven't used Driver Sweeper to clean ATi - Display drivers and you are having this problem with SP1 the problem with your system is something else"
Since I don't have ATI, (I have never had ATI on this computer, only NVidia).... does that mean I should do the InPlace upgrade?
    Andre instructed:

copy the files from the topic to the WinSxS folder. The drivers are aprt of Windows, so it doesn't matter which card you have. If the drivers are missing, Sp1 fails.
Also note from that topic Froztbound's post regarding extracting drivers from the original Windows 7 DVD and using the tutorial here for how to do it.

I think you need to either replace the drivers or do a repair install.

    Hi, jakedog.

Note from the topic I linked to at TechNet:
2011-02-23 12:26:35, Info CBS SPI: No drivers found to warn
2011-02-23 12:26:35, Error CBS SPI: Driver directory C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\atiilhag.inf_amd64_neutral_951c1812f542740a is missing
2011-02-23 12:26:35, Error CBS SPI: (CSPInstall::CompatibilityApplicabilityScan:1468)Inbox Driver check failed hr=0x800f0a13
Go to "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy those files to your documents folder so you can access them. Open the CBS.log with Notepad. If you have similar entries, you will need to replace the files as documented in that topic or in this blog post, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 fails to install with 0x800f0a13 or 0x800f0826 - The Servicing Guy - Site Home - TechNet Blogs.

In the same thread, Frotzbound was successful, following the steps below:

You find the procedure at: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/42776-extract-files-windows-7-installation-dvd.html

Extract and replace the %SystemRoot%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository with the following folders:

    atiilhag.inf_amd64_*
    atiriol6.inf_amd64_*
    nv_lh.inf_amd64_*

Extract and replace the %SystemRoot%\winsxs with the following folders (x64):

    amd64_atiilhag.inf.resources_*
    amd64_atiilhag.inf_*
    amd64_atiriol6.inf_*
    amd64_nv_lh.inf.resources_*
    amd64_nv_lh.inf_*

Extract and replace %SystemRoot%\winsxs\Manifests with the following files:

    amd64_atiilhag.inf-languagepack_*.manifest
    amd64_atiilhag.inf.resources_*.manifest
    amd64_atiilhag.inf_*.manifest
    amd64_atiriol6.inf_*.manifest
    amd64_nv_lh.inf-languagepack_*.manifest
    amd64_nv_lh.inf.resources_*.manifest
    amd64_nv_lh.inf_*.manifest

Note: these are the 64-bit version of the files. For the 32-bit version look for the x86 files. You also need to replace the permisions on above mentioned files and folders to be able to replace them. A procedure to accomplish this is here: Fix “You need permission to perform this action” error

After replacing the folders and files, reboot your computer. Then start the cmd-prompt as administrator and do a sfc /scannow to verify that everything copied correctly and verifies 100%.

    {SNIP}

After applying the System Update Readiness Tool, the SP1 installed successfully. Seems the tool (Windows6.1-KB947821-v10-x64.msu) did the trick. I downloaded the SP1 (windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe) and ran it. This time the SP1 installed itself and ran without any problems whatsoever.

My suggestions to fix the error Code 800F0A13 is the following:

Extract and replace the above mentioned files and folders. Reboot. Download and run the System Update Readiness Tool to fix any remnant errors and do another reboot. Then either download the SP1 and apply it manually or try the Windows Update.

jakedog, look how many times the files she listed in the post just before yours pop up. Check the procedure she posted, follow it carefully, and you should be alright. :)

You also might want to edit your post and just attach the log as a text file - that's a lot of scrolling!

Re- install is the only way, bite the bullet.

Re-install repair is wasting your time.

IDK about that. It sounds like its jacked by some type of malware. Iv cleaned a laptop with win7 while back, and it was a not allowing any updates. Before you f-disk it try combofix from here.

i think there are inherent clashes with drivers. Ive actually managed to get the service pack to install on the one machine it was failing on but it breaks it completely - no shortcuts or programs work - this cant be right - there's got to be something seriously wrong for it to do that
