Windows 7 Service pack 1 update bug

I am using windows 7 ultimate. Recently I updated it to the latest release of service pack 1 update of windows 7. Since I reboot the system after update, none of my drives (including system drive) open on double clicking it. I already tried rolling back updates by uninstalling it and system restore.. but no luck,, Though I can open my drives from selecting it using location bar. I didn't turn on encryption for the drives or uninstalled drivers, antivirus before making the update. I don't suspect no malware or virus.

Here is an image of an error message it gives on double clicking any of the drives:

Here are the options it shows on right clicking on any drive: < This list of unknown options I get. I don't get the explore option.

Thanks any help would be appreciated.

    Hi and welcome

Not a known problem.. Have you associated explorer with opening the drives in default programs cpanel?

Hi, Thank you for the reply.

No, I have not done it manually. It was working fine before the updates. Can you tell me how to associate the program in default program panel?

If the above screenshots aren't visible due the host is blocked in some countries.. I am posting it on different host..

I found the solution on my own at last. I would just share it.

Just found this very useful page on the forum/ downloaded the 'Default file extension type' for 'Drive protocol associations'/ Unzipped the registry file/ right click and merged into the system registry/ reboot the system and done. Now my drives are working absolutely fine.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

    Thanks anyways.. :)
