SP1 directly on fresh Win 7 installation?

Is it possible to install Service Pack 1 (from ISO file or DVD) on a fresh Windows 7 installation without installing any other updates prior to it?

Right now Windows Update shows me 64 important updates but not SP1.
The whole purpose the fresh re-install is to clean up the system so I would want to avoid installing a load of separate updates if SP1 could do it all at once and avoid cluttering up system from start.

Do not download any updates. Use the standalone installer, but make sure your pc is connected to the net. The needed files will be downloaded automatically.

    Hello Thomas,

Yes, as Electrotune said above, you could download the standalone SP1 installer at the link below to install it after a fresh Windows 7.

Download details: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)

In addition, you could use the tutorial below to slipstream the SP1 and Windows 7 to create a slipstream Windows 7 SP1 installation DVD, bootable USB flash drive, or ISO file.

Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Best thing is when you install Windows 7 and then use Windows Update as it still avial to download rather than burn the dvd disc. Ive installed new hard drive then format again then reinstall W7 and updated W7 Sp1 in same day
