    Windows Anytime Update Problem- Solved!


    A few days ago I bought a Windows Anytime Upgrade for my Windows Home Premium to go to Professional. When I Upgraded though, i got a error message saying that it was not successful. So then I go to cmd.exe and type Sfc /scannow, but get a error at %6. At this point I start Freaking out a little, so now I restore a backup from 5 days ago, and same problem. Windows Update isn't even working either! The only thing I can think of doing now is doing a Repair Install.... but I have a Pre-installed windows 7 running Sony Vaio, so I only have a OEM Windows 7 Factory Restore/Recovery disk. Can someone tell me what to do?

    Backup your files, run Sony factory recovery from it's partition which is the most stable method (use the disks as a backup): How to Recover Factory Settings on Sony Vaio Computer with Windows 7

    After factory recovery run Anytime Upgrade.

    Once you get Win7 set up and running well, save a Win7 backup image so you never have to reinstall again - just reimage the HD or its replacement from the stored image using the Repair CD: Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup - Windows 7 Forums

    If you want to try to run the Repair Install, borrow or find a Win7 installer for your version, or unlock all versions in any other version by running this tool on the iSO: Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done

    If you have SP1 already, then you'll need to find an installer ISO with it already slipstreamed, or slipstream it into the ISO yourself before burning a new DVD with ImgBurn at 4x speed: Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

Installed win 7 starter, activated, rebooted, ran anytime upgrade, upgraded to home premium, rebooted gives error regarding key and gives me 3 days to get another key and then activate running OEM starter. Please any help have reloaded numerousory times same story
