Service Pack 1 won't show in Windows Update

As the title says, the SP1 update never showed up in windows update in my laptop...
I manually checked for updates many times just to end with a message "Windows is up to date".
I've always received other updates normally.

In case someone asks, my copy of windows is legit. My laptop came with W7 Home premium installed and a couple days ago i upgraded to W7 Business with a key i had.
I only upgraded cause i thought somehow the update would appear. Ended up with same result as above.

I know i can download it in Microsoft's website but i just wan't to know if there's a way to fix this or if anyone have experienced this.

Btw, I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 now.
Any help would be great :)

Could it be that it is already installed. Have a look in Start > Computer > Properties. It would show like this:

Sorry, but sometimes one forgets the obvious - that is one lesson I learned after 52 years around computers.

I had a similar thing, although not exactly the same,

I did a fresh install couple of weeks back, and SP1 didn't show up until I had all updates installed. Which seem's a bit counter productive in my view, but there we go.

Probably not a lot of help I'm afraid, but you did ask if someone had something similar.

    Hello!

Please check everything in this Knowledge Base Article: You do not have the option of downloading Windows 7 SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates

If still no dice, tell me, and I will take a different approach.

    Thanks!

I checked every single step in the link you provided and nothing worked.

-SP1 is not installed, neither a prerelease version.
-When i check for updates it searches for a few seconds and gives me a message saying "Windows is up to date" and i do have Update 976902 installed.
-Never used "SafeCentral". It's not installed.
-My graphics card/GPU is ATI, not Intel.
    -Never used vLite.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Read through this thread and see if it applies to you, post # 33 in the thread has step by step instructions for a fix. Post back if you have any questions or if this works for you.
