It's been about 24 hours now without a recurrence of the prob.

Vista and Windows 7

I had the problem originally where it wouldn't update and kept failing. I took the update off using the clean up tool and then re installed using Mike's version. The update finally worked and the history says it was successful. However, I now have the update still telling me to do it every night? Does anyone know how to stop it? I have hidden it but really I wonder if this is ok? Isn't updating it once successfully good enough?
I was so grateful for the help about actually getting it to work, so many thanks all for that! I just need to stop the constant update bit now? Please help if you can!

If the cleanup tool fails too (Win 7 Ent x86), there is another solution.

Little drastic, but it's good for your system to do once in a while anyway.

I fixed the problem (finally) by doing a repair upgrade - I did have to download a warez version for this to do it - my original install cd is SP0 and a repair upgrade will not work when you are already on SP1. GOOD distro to use is by "BIE". Use Bit Che + utorrent if you need it... With poweriso, you don't even have to burn the dvd to fix your pc ;)

Constant BSOD due to what I assume is Adobe update, but not sure.
Title is fairly self explanatory, and I've attached my BSOD action report. I'm not sure WHAT update is causing this constant crashing (updated several things at once), but I *think* it's Adobe. If an expert could read this report and give me any insight, I would be much obliged. Thank you!!
